Troubleshooting Kyocera ECOSYS M3655idn Issues

You simply can’t do better than the Kyocera ECOSYS M3655idn thanks to its fax, scan, copy, and print capabilities.

Let’s take a look at some of the troubleshooting points where this laser MFP is concerned. Please keep in mind that the operation guide holds a troubleshooting section and gives extremely helpful illustrations. 

Staple Jam

There is a box on the upper right-hand side of the machine. Open the front door, which swings to the right, and clear the staple jam. Close the door and try to continue operation. (See the illustration in the operator’s manual.)

Paper Jam

You will see “Paper Jam” displayed on the touch panel if a paper jam occurs. To remove the jammed paper, do the following:

Check the display for paper jam location. It will tell you the steps to take and show the removal process. Once the jam has been removed, the error message will be cleared when the machine warms up again. Starting with the page that was printing when the machine jammed, it will then resume printing.

Drum Refresh 

To remove print out image blur: Here, you will need a “drum refresh”. Keep in mind that while printing, this cannot be performed. Check the screen for options and choose “Drum Refresh 1”. (For some printers, a “Drum Refresh 2” is also available and, again, cannot be done while the machine is printing.) 

Message Responses on Kyocera ECOSYS

  • Be alerted to a potential problem through a “Message”
  • Told exactly what that problem is in the message
  • Be informed as to “Checkpoints” to begin solving the problem
  • Be informed as to the “Corrective Action” to take
  • Be given “Page Reference” as to where to find more information

Malfunctions 

In the operator’s manual, you will find general problem-solving guidelines. An exceptionally helpful and detailed chart is provided. With your Kyocera ECOSYS M3655idn, if a problem occurs, you simply look closely at the checkpoints. Procedures are indicated on the machine for you to perform. Your Service Representative should be contacted if the problem persists after you have followed all of the recommendations given to you by the machine display and/or your operator’s manual.

Here is an example of what you will find on the chart:

  • “Symptom” – An application won’t start.
  • “Checkpoints” – Is the Auto Panel Reset time short?
  • “Corrective Action” – Set the Auto Panel Reset time to 30 seconds or more.
  • “Reference Page” – Pages 8 through 46
